Song Parodies Files

Purple Rain

  • Prince's Purple Rain was bastardized for this version which was inspired by Medicated Pete's karaoke version. The few times it aired Howard talked about Prince but the most memorable was when Artie asked Howard to put these guests in order. Robin's San Francisco incident, Artie's $5000 whore and Neil Young. Howard kept them in that order.

Lion Sleeps Tonight

  • Done for The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Howard kept singing "I'm in your butt" and said he would be singing it all day. He also said what a compliment for Robin to have songs written about her butt.

Hey, Soul Sister

  • Sal and Richard played a version of their own take on this one but this version of Soul Sisteris still somewhere in the archives.

Calling All Angels

  • Done to the Train song Calling All Angels.

Love Shack

  • A parody of the B52's Love Shack.

Something in the Air

  • You may have heard Howard sing this over the years, it's called Something in The Air. It has some nice Robin clips thrown in as if she's part of the song.

Low Rider

  • Robin was singing Low Rider one day so this had to be done.

Pants on the Ground

  • A parody of a parody. Starting on American Idol and then spoofed by Jimmy Fallon on his Show as Neil Young. Well, here's the Robin version where both Howard and Robin tried to figure out how to pronounce (Psych!) after Baba Booey tried to correct them the week before. Howard also said "This guy is really great at these parodies."

The Longest Time

  • Here's a version of The Longest Time which was done when Billy came in at the end of 2010. Robin commented that she loved the high voice and Howard said "That was beautiful, isn't that great?"

Big Bang

  • Another song Howard couldn't get out of his head. The song Big Bang was a shock that it made it on the show. It was done the same day Howard spoke about the actual song. He deleted it along with lots of parodies sent in by others but then very graciously apologized for deleting the file. It was played 3 times during and right after Lisa G's news. Howard said "he's got a great voice" and Robin asked "What does this Psych! guy do?" A caller talked about it and some funny stuff was said about what they thought Psych! did during the day.

Party in the USA

  • The Miley Cyrus song Party in the USA, it was first played upon the opening of a show at 6:02:AM and Howard said "I can't get this out of my head, I'll be thinking about it all day." Robin said "This was funny, I don't mind the trashing of a Miley song."

Hey You

  • Fred doesn't talk much so when he called Psych! "the Mozart of song parodies" for the parody of Hey you, that really meant a lot.

Use Somebody

  • Use Somebody made it on air a few times but the last time Howard said "I get hate mail and negatives and you get love songs from Psych!" Robin bravely said "Psych! is quickly becoming my new favorite." A discussion was started about the "prolific words and production" and both chatted about people being unemployed while writing parodies.

Can't Get Enough of Your Love

  • From MJ to Barry White, yes, a hard transition but the belt was loosened and this is what came out for Barry White. Howard said "wow that's sexy" Robin asked who it was and he said "your boyfriend Psych! who loves you." Robin then said Geoffrey Osborne is gone but the Philly sound lives on through Psych! Howard gave it a "big thumbs up."

Don't Stop Till You Get Enough

  • Since the first one worked out so well, why not try another. Here's another Michael Jackson parody.

Rock With You

  • The belt was tightened while remembering Michael Jackson with this great rendition. Howard repeating "that's your boyfriend Psych!" after he previously commented "that's your new boyfriend."

Somebody to Love

  • This was played while George Takei of (Star Trek fame) was in the studio for the week of Robin's 58th Birthday. George was laughing throughout the entire song. He also said it should have won a prize and applauded after the song claiming to have stood up from his chair saying it was "amazing and heavenly." Robin exclaimed that she's a huge fan and Howard noted the singing and production adding that it was "powerful."

Fat Bottom Girls

  • Howard and Robin argued over which was better, the lyrics or the production. Howard compared the visual of the song to the movie Avatar saying very graphic things about Robin's body that the song made him think about. The second time it was played he said, "this guy's in love with you, we have to meet this guy" and on another airing Howard said "Psych! is taking the crown."

Bohemian Rhapsody

  • This was played during the show on its own as well as Robin's news. Artie exclaimed it was his favorite of all parodies (get better Artie, we miss you) also, Greg Fitzsimmons commented about the words and said to Robin "one of my favorite parts of the show is watching you during the song."
