Song Parodies Files

Bicycle Race

  • Played the day that Psych! appeared for the first time live. It was originally supposed to be played for Robin's Birthday the day before but since that was song #98, they decided to play this song as #99 and let Psych! play #100 live. This was played twice the same day, once before Psych! came into the studio in it's entirety and half of the song while joined by Psych! live.

How Deep is Your Love

  • Played right on Robin's 59th Birthday for the announcement that Psych! would be coming in live the next day. Howard commented on the production and Robin laughed and answered some questions about her anatomy.

Clip #6

  • Howard says Psych! is taking the crown.

Clip #5

  • 2 clips of a time Psych! was played back to back and Howard said "I gotta meet this guy"

Clip #4

  • A discussion of lyrics to the Kansas spoof

Clip #3

  • The first time a Psych!/Baba Booey song was played and pronunciation for Psych! is figured out.

Clip #2

  • Howard says he can't get the song out of his head

Clip #1

  • Howard compares Psych! to Prince

The Munsters Theme

  • The memorable Munsters theme really comes alive with the new Booey version

Lovin Touchin Squeezin

  • Sent in by request, these words could have even been in the original journey song.

Walking On The Moon

  • If you blinked during this one you may have completely missed it. Credit for this one goes to a great fan, (Stripez) who sent in a few awesome tunes. This was the first of them to get played. It was played right before the news but Howard got so involved in talking to Gary that he forgot all about it and talked over it..

To All The Girls I Loved Before

  • This Julio Iglesias & Willie Nelson song was played as a second song going into the news. There was no reason why 2 parodies were played but only half of the song was heard so here's the full version. Howard said "This is Psych! your boyfriend."

Rehab

  • This was done after the untimely death of Amy Winehouse. Howard said "Isn't that nice, it's so sweet that it was done for you Robin. A tribute to Amy Winehouse who passed away at 27."

Yakety Yak

  • This might be one of the oldest parodies to be done for Robin. From 1958 The Coasters now had a comeback with this version of Yakety Yak. It was played during the show and the only comment Robin had was "WOW!"

Poker Face

  • This interesting version of Lady Gaga's Poker Face was played both during the show and news with Howard's comment of "This is a beautiful one." Robin had also commented that "Psych! is back in a big way" after not being played for two weeks because of the shows vacation time.

George Sings

  • George Takei who played MR. Sulu on the show Star Trek was in for the first week of April 2011 as the shows announcer. During this time he met Jason Ellis who was a professional skateboarder and currently a mixed martial artist, actor and has his own show on Sirius. George seemed to become quite smitten with Jason and talked about his good looks and outgoing personality. At one point during the show Howard coaxed George into making up a song about Jason's "God like"

qualities. From the small bit of that singing came this orchestrated epic which Howard called genius. It was quite flattering to hear him say "Psych! is officially a genius" and added "way to go how beautiful." Robin said "that's incredible."

New York New York

  • A great suggestion by Jason Tesauro who was a Bigfoot impressionist in the (impression contest) originally for Stern show members but started branching out into other worlds. New York New York By Sinatra culminated in this great team effort to create a very ambiguous version of this song. Howard wasn't sure if it was written for Robin or George Takei (Star Trek) because Robin's name wasn't mentioned. It also started a discussion of other song parodies and how many they get daily.

Up Around the Bend

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) recorded this back in 1970. Up Around The Bend has a great belting vocal by lead singer John Fogerty. Because of the words to the chorus, this had to be done with very similar sounding lyrics but a very different overtone.

Mama Told Me Not To Come

  • One of the great Three Dog Night songs (Mama Told Me Not To Come) was originally written by Randy Newman. This was taken from the Three Dog Night version since it went to #1 and more people would know it. The topic for this one was Robin learning about her not so favorite subject by watching a video. Can you guess what it was? Take a listen and see if you remember this very talked about topic.

Forget You

  • This Cee Lo Green tune called Forget You has a much more explicative title. Of course, with such a title the idea to expand on that a bit couldn't be passed up. This one talks about Robin and all of her fruit & veggie adventures.

Abbey Road

  • The Beatles Abbey Road has a 14 minute medley that was cut down to just a minute and a half. Howard was talking about it one morning on the show and this was done the next day. It was pretty ambitious because it's 4 songs in one.

Where It's At

  • Another song special enough to be played during the actual show.

Where It's At by Beck was aired during the second hour and as soon as it started Howard said "This is good, I know this" Robin said "Oh, it's Beck." They both started laughing at the chorus and Robin thought it was particularly funny.

My Generation

  • Done with The Who's My Generation in mind who would be the best candidate for a song like that? None other than John the Stutterer.

Well, we couldn't get him Smile but we got the closest thing possible.

Chad Diller did this great rendition once again penned by Neon and produce by Psych! What a trio, Howard played this during the second hour of the show and everyone was laughing right through the song.

Robin thought it was funny that all of this teaming up went on to make this tune happen.

Rocket Cookie

  • Another cookie song using Elton John's Rocket Man complete with sound bytes from the shows cast.

Cookie Man

  • Sal thought it would be funny to have a KC and The Sunshine Band version of I'm Your Boogieman but use I'm Your Cookie Man for Ronnie's cookie fiasco. It was a great suggestion and culminated in a great Ronnie song.
